Arrival to Mexico City

Tyler's first email home:

Hi mom! I dont have too long, just a few minutes, but I wanted to let you know I got here safely! Everything went pretty smooth, in LA I was rushed through security because I had to get to my flight quickly, but it was fine.  They had to open one of my Christmas presents smh, but i told them I cant look and they laughed and told me when they closed it back up haha. But everything was super smooth especially when I got to Mexico! They didnt even check my bags here, it seems so American if everything wasnt so Spanishy haha.  But I love you guys.  Pretty much Ive met my best friend here already, his name is Matt Boyer! Please tell Allison that i found him, she knows him.  Hes from south jordan utah in my same mission, and we get along so well. Weve been together through everything.  I took a few pictures so far so Ill try to upload them soon.  Thanks for everything mom, I love you and dad and our family so much i feel so blessed (and kind of spoiled) I have everything I need and more. I love the photo albums.  I miss you guys already but when I landed here i feel super safe and I know its home. I love it here already and Im not scared or nervous or anything.  Sorry I cant say more I have so many more stories but Ill have to share them on P Day. My P Day is Friday but unfortunately we dont get one this week... So everyone will have to wait til next Friday to hear from me! Well I also found the boys from grandpa and grandma metcalfs ward and from Ralinas ward! Small world, but Im so ready for this.  Matt Boyer isnt my companion and my companion is Elder Marker, but Elder Boyer and I have every class and district and apartment building together.  Sorry for the bad grammar, correct it all before you post this on my blog haha. This spanish keyboard is kind of weird and I cant find the apostraphe! I dont feel like wasting time looking for it either.  Well good luck I hope everything is going good with the family! You will be blessed and dont worry about me, I love it hear.  My ankle is great too Ive already mastered my backflip.  Haha jk but my ankle is great.  Love you Ill update you in a week and a few days! Adios!!!! T-Clark out.
-Love, Tyler Clark

He knew exactly what I needed to hear.  It's crazy how a letter can make you laugh and cry at the same time.

Departure Day

With tears in our eyes, but gratitude and faith in our hearts, we sent Elder Tyler Christopher Clark to serve Heavenly Father's children in Mexico City.  Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things I have ever done.  A piece of my heart left for Mexico City and he will be missed.  We love him but know he is needed to serve the people in Mexico City.  As he boarded the plane, he said the most comforting words to me.  He hugged me and said, "I love you.  I'm ready!!"  He always knows how to make me feel better.

Tylers Farewell Talk

Tylers Talk in Sacrament Meeting

Farewell In Church

Tylers cousin, Allsion, leaving on a mission in January!
We had a wonderful sacrament meeting October 23, 2016. Many family members came down to enjoy the weekend. Many of Tyler's friends also made the drive to join in.  We are so thankful for his good friends and family.  We enjoyed being together and enjoying time with Tyler.  Tyler gave a wonderful talk in sacrament meeting.  I was also able to speak and all of the children sang, "To Bring the World His Truth."  As he shared his thoughts and testimony, the spirit continued to confirm to me that he is ready to serve.  I take much comfort in this knowledge.  It was a special day.
Tylers best friends!!
